Welcome. As a life long outdoorsman and hunter my wife Helen and I have put together this web site to educate other hunters and anyone else who is interested, that in spite of decades of being bred strictly for the show ring, many Standard Poodles still retain the hunting and retrieving instinct for which they were originally bred.
Not many hunters realize a standard poodle can be darn good in the field to say nothing of living with one in the house, where they belong, never living in an outside kennel. Two huge in house advantages are coats that don't shed and fewer problems than with most other breeds concerning members of the household who may have allergies.
Yes, they do require regular grooming, a major commitment, and it's cheaper to do it yourself. For more on that click "Breed" below.
We do plan to breed Callie (DOB 7/10/06) a recent addition and have puppies to sell. In the mean time if after perusing this site you become interested in finding a hunting poodle I am more then willing to offer my advice on where to look for a breeder truly concerned with health issues, correct temperament and conformation.
If any breeder likes what they see here our two males are available at stud to qualified bitches. Before that happens any inquiries will need to be fully explored and openly discussed one on one concerning health tests and possible risks, as with any purebred breed, some of which are not yet fully understood.
